Taxes, Property Taxes and Political Turncoats
Hardly ever do you find a candidate running who will actually cut taxes when they get in office. Once in office, it’s business as usual. Our sheep slips off his costume and turns into a wolf. How often do we need to see another gutless big shot selling out the taxpayer vote and then walking over and wallow into the status quo trough? To see them get down and dirty in the orgy taking place, rubber stamping the run away public money spending mind-set as witnessed by another increase in taxes, discourages even the most hardy voter.
There's Brussels sprouts, liver and onions … and taxes. No matter how much we despise them, if we’re children we may just have to eat them. They are just a part of life. If we’re adults, we can vote against them IF SOMEONE IS RUNNING FOR US WHO WILL TRIM TAXES!
Property taxes pay for many, many social services and programs for all of us. The money we pay each year is a significant source of revenue for county government as well as several other groups funded with this tax money. Property tax money also goes to the health department, administration salaries, fire and police departments, road department and other services. A smaller portion goes to fund the public library. The lions share often goes to education simply because education of the next generation is all of our responsibility. Nevertheless, in every public department receiving public money, economical improvements can be made.
Perhaps we need a new political party that will hold those running for office within their party accountable. The Dems and Republicans seem bankrupt in the fiscal accountability department.
