Rhode Island Property Taxes

Rhode Island ranks somewhere in the middle of the 50 states in terms of income taxes, sales taxes and corporate taxes.  Rhode Island high property taxes cause it to rank as the eighth highest tax state in the union. "The average Rhode Island family pays more than twice as much in property tax as they do in income tax," Senate Majority Leader Teresa Paiva Taxpayers get heated about early retirement of public employees. Not withstanding their over compensation when compared with the private sector, the often 2O-years and out is an insult when the average job demands 45-years service before leaving the scene into retirement. A little number crunching and sleuth might need to be involved in collecting compensation figures. Health, pension and annuities add a considerable amount. The reoccurring cost of entitlement pay out for a non-productive service could and should scream out at taxpayers. Compensation for services rendered may need to be ballot issue instead of negotiated behind voters back. Either that or “public servants” need to be outsourced.
