Minnesota Property Tax Appeals
A recent Star Tribune newspaper analysis looked at state records and found that property tax increases have far outpaced increases in personal income over the last five years. Minnesota residential property taxes are racing to double every six years.
The study shows, " Property taxes have gone up across the state an average of 58 percent from 2002 through this year." Personal income gained 21 percent ver the same period of time.
The ever-increasing taxes are squeezing retirees. Instead of cutting taxes and economizing, runaway spending is increasing taxpayer pain.
There needs to be agreement with politicians one either side of the fence to reduce overall taxes on its citizens. That includes, property taxes, sales taxes, licenses, use taxes, application fees, yard sale licenses, etc. Politicians need to stop thinking up ways to tax people. How about think up ways to reduce taxes?
